Tottenham Striker Makes History Before Limping Off

Harry Kane Injured After Historic Bundesliga Debut

Tottenham striker makes history before limping off

Kane scores but Bayern win 5-2

Harry Kane made Bundesliga history on Saturday but his debut for Bayern Munich was cut short by injury.

The England captain scored the opening goal in Bayern's 5-2 win at Darmstadt, becoming the first Englishman to score in the German top flight since Tony Woodcock in 1986.

However, Kane was forced off in the second half with an ankle injury. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it is a blow to Bayern, who are already without Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann said after the game that Kane's injury "does not look good." He added: "We will have to wait for the results of the scan, but it is clear that he will be out for a few weeks."

Kane's injury is a major setback for Bayern, who are chasing a record-extending 11th consecutive Bundesliga title.

The German champions are also due to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League knockout stages next month.
